This position is primarily responsible for bringing to life a Tax control framework with the identification and implementation of standardized tax processes and technological improvements to make a digital transformation in all areas of Brazilian Tax&Customs; Department: compliance, direct and indirect consulting/planning and audits/litigation. By conducting Continuous Improvement activities, this role identifies and prioritizes process improvement opportunities for end-to-end tax related processes, ensuring our controls are properly designed and that process documentation is updated for process changes. This position plays a lead role in providing Brazilian Tax&Customs; team with advanced counsel and knowledge on continuous improvement processes and change management thought influential leadership, analytics/automated tools and methodologies.
Provide thought leadership for a digital tax transformation vision and strategy for Brazilian Tax function
Bring visibility to current state, identify, prioritize, and define resources for continuous process improvement and standardization opportunities in end-to-end tax processes
Challenges the status quo with Function leadership and other stakeholders to explore new ways to analyze, measure, execute and ultimately bring increased value to our tax processes
Uses advanced knowledge and application of principles, concepts, industry best practices and standards. Researches and develops continuous improvement tools and methods (e.g. Process Lean/Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Cargill PPM/Project Delivery Process).
Define base line and benchmark process and solutions against external best practice to ‘bring the outside in’
Partner with IT and CBS functions to increase automation in the tax reporting process, increase analytic capabilities through data integration, and create solid internal controls that will enable the Tax function to deliver better quality output and contribute more strategically to organizational decision making.
Bring to life a robust Tax Control framework where: i) Processes, risks and controls are monitored real-time, at transactional level; ii) Risks & control weaknesses are identified and mitigated proactively; iii) Tax data is used to predict and manage risks, iv). Risks and controls are monitored and tracked digitally and v) Dashboards & alerts given.
Uses advanced expertise, experience, and network to drive process improvement initiatives throughout Tax&Customs; Identifies and documents variances from project goals and objectives, and communicates status reports, issue logs and risk areas to leadership.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Law, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration/Management
At least one of the following: Professional Certification in Project Management (PMP), Six Sigma Black Belt/Lean Black Belt/Master Black Belt, Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), SAP Certified Professional, Oracle Certified Professional
Tax or finance experience in leadership positions, with strong problem solving, analytical, and risk assessment skills
Experience with tax process and process improvement methodology, modeling and tools
Demonstrated ability to create a culture of continuous improvement, process optimization, and intellectual curiosity
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (Portuguese and English)
